Padres Prospect Report: May 30, 2009

Matt Buschmann is rocked again while Will Venable accounts for the lone Portland run. Cesar Carrillo is stellar but does not figure into the decision and Lance Zawadzki debuts with a RBI. Cory Luebke pitches well but Aaron Breit gives up his first hit this year with the bases juiced. James Darnell reaches four times and hits a bomb and Nick Schmidt provides a solid start. DSL action begins.

Portland (24-26) lost 6-1 to Fresno (Giants) Matt Buschmann was on the hook for five runs on 10 hits and three walks over five innings and 84 pitches, seeing his record drop to 2-5. The right-hander has allowed double-digit hits twice this season and has allowed at least five runs in five of his 10 starts, including four of his last six.
