MSU Commit Helps Team Win State Championship

Sumrall High School won their second straight 3A state championship in baseball over the weekend. And Mississippi State baseball commitment Chase Lewallen, a junior, was very instrumental in helping his team to the two-game series sweep.

"We won two games," said Chase Lewallen, who not only went 7-for-8 as a hitter but also earned a save in the series. "We won 10-4 the first game and 11-1 the second game." And not only did his team win state but they finished the season undefeated, just the second team in Mississippi history to do so.
