Stauffer on top; Hefner dynamite

Tim Stauffer had a solid outing for Portland, earning the win. Michael Johnson has homered in two straight games. Robert Perry showed he could hang at the High-A level. Drew Miller got hammered in a Fort Wayne loss. Jeremy Hefner continued to have terrific performances and explained the reason behind his success while manager Greg Riddoch lamented over missed opportunities.

Portland won 8-1 over Sacramento (A's) Tim Stauffer (4-4) reached his pitch count after seven innings of one run ball, tossing 113 pitches in a winning effort. He allowed seven hits and two walks while striking out seven. Stauffer had allowed 16 runs over his last three outings, spanning 19 innings. During that time, the right-hander allowed double-digit hit totals in each of the three games...
