Adrian Gonzalez Audio Interview

The San Diego Padres open up the season against the San Francisco Giants on Monday and first baseman Adrian Gonzalez will be in the starting lineup in place of Ryan Klesko.

Adrian Gonzalez, acquired in a trade with the Texas Rangers this off-season, was originally slated to be a late game defensive replacement but has been pressed into the starting role with Ryan Klesko beginning the year on the disabled list.

MadFriars.com caught up with Gonzalez to talk about coming back to San Diego, the pressure to perform in front of the home crowd, being billed as the late inning replacement, and what veterans have been helpful this spring.
