Knott Is Hot; Thompson Stumbles; Bush Scores
Jon Knott went 2-for-4 with a double and a homer. It is the fifth time this year that Knott has two extra base hits in the same game. After getting one multi-hit game in his first 16 contests, Knott has five in his last 13.
Clay Hensley had another strong performance, going seven innings and allowing two runs on five hits and a walk. Hensley has allowed three runs in 12 innings since returning to the starting rotation. He has kept the opposition to a .170 batting average against on the year.
Brad Baker earned his eighth save of the year and has allowed hits in four of his 13 appearances on the season. Although he has an ERA of 4.97 and has blown two saves, the opposition is hitting .171 off him. He has walked 12 in 12.2 innings and has a WHIP of 1.50.

Sean Thompson went six innings, yielding six runs, four earned, on a season-high seven hits and three walks while striking out nine, also a season-high. Thompson had not allowed more than two earned runs in any of his five previous starts. Thompson has walked three in four different games this year and has struck out seven or more in five games.
Eddie Bonine had not surrendered a homer through his first 11 appearances. He allowed three on Sunday. Bonine went two innings and allowed four runs on four hits and a walk. He has given up ten runs, eight earned, over his last 3.1 innings. The opposition is hitting .330 off him on the year.
In 17 games this year, Steve Baker already has two hitting streaks of seven games in length. He went 2-for-4 with a homer, his first of the year, and two RBI's. Baker is 13-for-29 over the streak but did hit into his second double play of the year and committed an error which did not lead to any runs against.
Fort Wayne lost 5-1
Fort Wayne managed just two hits Sunday, one from Lachlan Dale and another from Matt Bush who doubled and scored the only Fort Wayne run on a ground out. Chris Kolkhorst walked twice – the only Wizard to reach base twice in the game.
Clark Girardeau lasted 4.2 innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on five hits and two walks. The opposition is hitting .283 off him this year. The leadoff hitter to open an inning is batting .414 off him this year.
Luke Steidlmayer allowed one hit in 4.1 innings of work, lowering his ERA down to 0.45 on the year. Steidlmayer has kept the opposition to a batting average of .040 with runners in scoring position and he has kept them to a .153 average overall. He is in the midst of a 13.2 scoreless inning streak.
