Whitaker unhittable; Germano in Portland again

Mike Bumstead got the shaft on Thursday. Ramon Vasquez made a rehab stint in Portland and Justin Germano returned to the minors. Brian Whitaker had another eight inning gem, his second in a row. Jon Huber had his worst outing of the year. Brian Burgamy returned to the field. Fort Wayne had their game cancelled.

Mike Bumstead was sent from Portland down to Mobile. He had skipped Mobile on his way up from Lake Elsinore and had a 1.38 ERA in eight outings, allowing two runs in separate appearances. He had a four game stretch where he did not allow a hit and allowed just one base runner, on via a walk. Portland lost 5-4 Ramon Vasquez made his first rehab start and went 0-for-3.
