Cesar Ramos Profile

Cesar Ramos was anxious to see what uniforms his family was wearing late Tuesday night at Petco Park after he allowed the Dodgers one run on four hits over five-plus innings in his first major league start. A Los Angeles native, Ramos grew up a diehard Dodgers fans and admitted that most of the 25 family members and friends he invited Tuesday night were L.A. fans who might have split allegiances since he was making his memorable first start on a night when the Dodgers could clinch the National League West title.

"It's hard to explain how I feel, but that was a lot of fun to pitch against that team and work against that lineup," Ramos said after helping the Padres defeat the Dodgers 3-1. "I was pretty nervous that first inning."
