Eugene Emeralds, the short-season affiliate of the San Diego Padres, pitcher Nick Greenwood was named to the Northwest League All-Star team on Thursday.

The left-hander has gone 4-1 with four saves across 59.1 innings this season. Greenwood went 4-0 with a 1.66 ERA across nine starts and is a few innings shy of winning the league ERA title. He has allowed 49 hits, walked 15 and struck out 47. Left-handed hitters are batting .141 off him.

Nick Greenwood went 4-1 with a 1.71 ERA across 17 games, including nine starts, with the Eugene Emeralds. In 63.1 innings, he allowed 52 hits, walked 16 and struck out 50. He held the opposition to a .224 average. The opposition stole five bases off him in seven attempts. He allowed one homer, hit four batters, tossed five wild pitches, and induced eight double play grounders. Of the five runners he inherited, two scored on him. The opposition hit .180 off him with runners in scoring position in 61 at-bats. Greenwood won the Northwest League ERA championship.

Nick Greenwood tossed three scoreless innings with the Fort Wayne TinCaps. He allowed two hits and a walk while striking out three and inducing a double play grounder.

Nick Greenwood was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 14th-round of the 2009 MLB Draft, 414th overall.

Greenwood paced the team with 74 strikeouts and finished his junior campaign with a 6.00 strikeout-to-walk ratio in Atlantic 10 games (42 strikeouts, seven walks) and was fourth in the conference with a .239 opposing batting average and a 3.15 ERA in league games. He turned in a team-best seven wins, including a victory over No. 25 Ohio State and a complete-game shutout over St. Bonaventure.
