Eugene Emeralds, the short-season affiliate of the San Diego Padres, infielder Vince Belnome was named to the Northwest League All-Star team on Thursday.

Belnome is hitting .297 with 27 extra base hits, including a league leading 10 homers, across 64 games. He has scored 53 runs and driven in 44. Belnome also sports a 52-to-55 walk-to-strikeout ratio and a .433 on-base percentage.

Vince Belnome hit .297 across 65 games with the Eugene Emeralds. He went 70-for-236 with 16 doubles, one triple, 10 homers, 53 runs scored and 44 RBI. He posted a .431 on-base percentage with a 52-to-55 walk-to-strikeout ratio while getting hit by five pitches. He committed nine errors in the field. He hit .264 with runners in scoring position in 72 at-bats and grounded into seven double plays. Belnome was tied for third in the Northwest League in homers and placed second in on-base percentage. Belnome’s 24-game on-base streak was the sixth best mark in the league.

Vince Belnome hit .500 across 10 games with the Fort Wayne TinCaps. He went 16-for-32 with three doubles, one triple, four runs scored and 10 RBI. He posted a .556 on-base percentage with a 4-to-5 walk-to-strikeout ratio. He stole one base in as many attempts and committed one error in the field. He hit .636 in 11 at-bats with runners in scoring position and grounded into two double plays.

Vince Belnome was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 28th-round of the 2009 MLB Draft, 834th overall.

The second baseman/designated hitter batted .418 with nine home runs and a school-record 84 RBIs in his junior season in 2009. His 84 runs driven in are sixth-best in the nation, while his team-leading .519 on-base percentage is 13th in the country.

The Coatesville, Pa., native tallied 20 doubles and compiled a .648 slugging percentage. Belnome finished his junior campaign placing in the top five in four major offensive categories in the BIG EAST - on-base percentage (first), RBIs (first), walks (second) and batting average (fourth). He is tied with Stan Posluszny for second place on the school's career RBI list with 174.
