Banks went 1-1 with a 5.93 ERA across nine games, including four starts with the Portland Beavers. In 30.1 innings he allowed 39 hits, eight walks and struck out 22. He allowed three homers and induced four double play grounders while holding the opposition to a .310 average.

The Padres claimed Banks off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays on April 23, 2008.
Banks has a career 50-44 minor league record with a 4.23 ERA (346 ER/736.1 IP) in 130 games (129 starts) over parts of six seasons in the Blue Jays organization. He is 0-2 with a 7.02 ERA (13 ER/16.2 IP) in three starts this season for Triple-A Syracuse.
The right-hander made his Major League debut in 2007 with the Blue Jays, posting a 7.36 ERA (6 ER/6.1 IP) in three outings (one start). |
