Cameron Monger hit .295 across 52 games with the AZL Padres. He went 64-for-217 with 11 doubles, six triples, two homers, 42 runs scored and 32 RBI. He posted a .357 on-base percentage with a 12-to-52 walk-to-strikeout ratio while getting hit by 10 pitches. He stole 29 bases in 34 attempts and committed four errors in the field. He hit .383 with runners in scoring position and grounded into three double plays. Monger was second in the league in stolen bases and fourth in hits.
Notes:
Cameron Monger was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 27th-round of the 2009 MLB Draft, 804th overall.
After leading the nation in steals at Howard (Texas) junior college, Cameron Monger followed a juco coach that managed in the same league - heading to New Mexico.
His playing time, however, was almost non-existent this season. Monger logged just 35 at-bats with the Lobos - but still managed to swipe nine bases. |
