Jerry Sullivan went 5-3 with a 4.02 ERA across 16 games, including nine starts, with the Eugene Emeralds. In 53.2 innings, he allowed 44 hits, walked 27 and struck out 58. He held the opposition to a .219 average. The opposition stole four bases off him in six attempts. He allowed five homers, hit four batters, tossed seven wild pitches, and induced three double play grounders. Of the five runners he inherited, two scored on him. The opposition hit .230 off him with runners in scoring position in 61 at-bats.
Notes:
The San Diego Padres selected right-hander Jerry Sullivan out of Oral Roberts in the third-round of the 2009 MLB Draft, 83rd overall.
Sullivan went 8-3 with a 3.12 ERA (34 ER/98.0 IP), 27 walks, 116 strikeouts and two complete games in 15 starts this season. A junior in 2009, he limited opponents to a .253 batting average while recording 10.65 strikeouts per 9.0 IP. Sullivan was named First-Team All-Summit League following the season.
