Carter hit .282 with 134 hits in 476 at-bats with the Lake Elsinore Storm. He collected 37 doubles, two triples, 14 homers, 79 runs scored, and 82 RBIs. He also drew 64 walks compared to 119 strikeouts, grounding into a team-high 18 double plays.

2007

Carter hit .267 with 91 hits in 341 at bats for the Fort Wayne Wizards. In 97 games he had 19 doubles, two triples, 12 homers, 41 runs scored and 43 RBIs. He drew 32 walks compared to 124 strikeouts.

2006

Sam Carter hit .278 with 32 hits in 115 at bats over 34 games for the AZL Padres. He had nine doubles, one triple, three homers and 24 RBI's while scoring 22 runs. He also drew 24 walks while striking out 36 times. Carter was 0-for-4 in stolen base attempts on the year. He hit .333 over his final 18 games in Peoria.

Carter went 1-for-3 with a walk in the Championship game for the AZL Padres.

He was promoted to Eugene after winning the Championship on September 1, 2006. He went 3-for-12 in four games with the Emeralds.
