Blake Tekotte hit .258 across 134 games with the Fort Wayne TinCaps. He went 137-for-530 with 24 doubles, five triples, 13 homers, 83 runs scored and 56 RBI. He posted a .345 on-base percentage with a 68-to-97 walk-to-strikeout ratio. He stole 30 bases in 42 attempts and committed six errors in the field. He hit .224 in 125 at-bats with runners in scoring position and grounded into six double plays. Tekotte led the team with four sacrifice bunts and also led the club with 13 outfield assists. His 18-game hitting streak was the third best mark in the Midwest League and his 36-game on-base streak was the second best mark in the circuit. Tekotte was named the team’s co-MVP.
2008
Tekotte hit .285 with 55 hits in 193 at-bats with the Eugene Emeralds. He collected 15 doubles, six homers, 43 runs scored, and 29 RBIs across 47 games. He also drew 27 walks compared to 45 strikeouts for a .379 on-base percentage and stole seven bases in 11 attempts.

Tekotte (TEE-coat-tee), the 101st overall selection out of the University of Miami, batted .353 (88-for-249) with 12 doubles, four triples, 13 home runs, 50 RBI, 81 runs scored, 45 walks and 27 stolen bases in 64 games in center field for a Hurricanes team that reached the College World Series. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound junior was a 2008 First-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection and named to both the 2008 NCAA Coral Gables Regional All-Tournament Team and 2008 ACC Championship All-Tournament Team. He finished second in the ACC in stolen bases and tied for fourth in runs scored while leading all Miami batters in hits. A native of Columbia, Mo., Tekotte was named a 2007 Cape Cod League All-Star and garnered All-League honors while playing for the Brewster Whitecaps.
