Allan Dykstra hit .226 across 125 games with the Fort Wayne TinCaps. He went 93-for-411 with 22 doubles, three triples, 11 homers, 71 runs scored and 60 RBI. He posted a .397 on-base percentage with a 104-to-103 walk-to-strikeout ratio. He stole one base in three attempts and committed nine errors in the field. He hit .221 in 131 at-bats with runners in scoring position and grounded into five double plays. Dykstra was hit by a team-high 16 pitches. Dykstra placed fourth in the Midwest League in on-base percentage. Dykstra also led the entire minor leagues in walks.
2008
Dykstra hit .292 with seven hits in 25 at-bats with the Lake Elsinore Storm. He collected one double, one homer, five runs scored, and 10 RBIs. He also drew seven walks compared to seven strikeouts.

Dykstra was selected by the San Diego Padres in the first-round of the 2008 MLB Draft, 23rd overall.
Dykstra hit a team-leading .323 with 16 home runs and 50 RBIs. The San Diego native led the Deacons in hitting, RBIs, runs, home runs, slugging and on-base percentage. Dykstra, who reached base safely in all but four games this season, ranked among the ACC leaders in home runs, on-base percentage and walks.
Dykstra also walked a Wake Forest-record 62 times this season, a total which also ranks him second in the country. He also set the school's career record for walks and HBPs and ranks third all-time in career homers.
He was originally drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 34th round of the 2005 MLB Draft.
