Pelzer was named a California League All-Star.
Wynn Pelzer went 11-8 with a 3.94 ERA across 27 starts with the Lake Elsinore Storm. In 160.2 innings, he allowed 134 hits, walked 59 and struck out 147. He held the opposition to a .244 average. The opposition stole 29 bases off him in 48 attempts. He allowed six homers, hit 18 batters, tossed eight wild pitches, and induced eight double play grounders. The opposition hit .277 off him in 155 at-bats with runners in scoring position. Pelzer ranked fifth in the California League in ERA and was second in the circuit in strikeouts but was fifth in walks allowed. Pelzer was fifth in the entire minor leagues in hit batsmen.
2008
Pelzer went 9-6 with a 3.19 ERA across 29 games, including 23 starts, with the Fort Wayne Wizards. In 118.1 innings he allowed 114 hits, walked 32, and struck out 100. Pelzer held the opposition to a .248 average. He also hit a team-high 15 batters and tossed 10 wild pitches while notching nine double play grounders.
Pelzer went 0-0 with a 27.00 ERA across one inning with the Lake Elsinore Storm. He allowed three hits and a walk.

Pelzer was selected in the ninth-round of the 2007 MLB Draft. While playing in the Cape Cod League, Pelzer suffered a fractured kneecap and did not debut until 2008. |
