Pelzer held the opposition to a .248 average. He also hit a team-high 15 batters and tossed 10 wild pitches while notching nine double play grounders.

Pelzer went 0-0 with a 27.00 ERA across one inning with the Lake Elsinore Storm. He allowed three hits and a walk.

Pelzer was selected in the ninth-round of the 2007 MLB Draft. While playing in the Cape Cod League, Pelzer suffered a fractured kneecap and did not debut until 2008.
