Latos went 1-4 with a 3.83 ERA over 16 games, including 13 starts, with the Eugene Emeralds. In 56.1 innings he allowed 58 hits, walked 22 and struck out 74. He also tossed eight wild pitches and allowed just one homer.

A 6-6, 216-pound freshman from Margate, Florida, he compiled 102 strikeouts compared to 17 walks over 75.1 innings, yielding 58 hits.
