Brian Falkenborg, 30, appeared in 16 games for the Dodgers in 2008, going 2-2 with a 6.17 ERA (8 ER/11.2 IP) and nine strikeouts. The right-hander began the season at Triple-A Las Vegas, going 1-1 with 13 saves and a 3.60 ERA (14 ER/35.0 IP) in 32 relief appearances before having his contract purchased by the Dodgers on June 25.
Over parts of six Major League seasons with the Baltimore Orioles (1999), Dodgers (2004, 2008), Padres (2005) and St. Louis Cardinals (2006-07), Falkenborg is 3-4 with a 5.82 ERA (42 ER/65.0 IP) and 52 strikeouts in 55 career relief appearances. He went 0-0 with an 8.18 ERA (10 ER/11.0 IP) in 10 games for the Padres in 2005. |
