Mead went 2-4 with a 4.34 ERA over 14 games, including 12 starts, for the AZL Padres. In 58 innings he allowed 64 hits, walked 23 and struck out 39. Mead led the league with seven homers alllowed.
2006
Tyler Mead went 2-2 with a 6.35 ERA over 13 appearances, including six starts, with the AZL Padres. In 34 innings he allowed 48 hits, walked 24 and struck out 28. He also uncorked four wild pitches. The opposition hit .327 off him, .322 with RISP.
Notes:
Tyler Mead was a 17th round pick out of Skyview (Wash.) High School in 2006. He was a first-team all-class 4A Greater St. Helens League pitcher after posting a 5-2 record with a 3.19 ERA this season. The Skyview High School standout is the son of former minor league pitcher Timber Mead. |
