Valdez hit .227 with 49 hits in 216 at-bats with the Eugene Emeralds. He collected 10 doubles, two triples, five homers, 35 runs scored, and 22 RBIs across 59 games. He also drew 18 walks compared to 64 strikeouts for a .293 on-base percentage and stole three bases in seven attempts.

2007

Valdez hit .281 with 54 hits in 192 at bats for the AZL Padres. In 47 games he had seven doubles, four triples, three homers, 30 RBIs and 31 runs scored. he also drew 15 walks while striking out 44 times. Valdez added 11 steals in 14 attempts. he commmitted 15 errors between second base (21), third (1) and shortstop (27).

2006

Valdez spent the 2006 season in the Dominican Summer League where he hit .238 with seven doubles, two triples and 10 RBIs over 47 games. He also added 12 stolen bases in 18 attempts.
