Carlin hit .220 with 66 hits in 300 at bats for the Portland Beavers. In 98 games he collected 20 doubles, two triples, 17 RBIs and 35 runs scored. he drew 47 walks compared to 77 strikeouts. He threw out 26-of-90 runners attempting to steal.

Carlin was honored as the Portland Beavers Community Player of the Year.

2006

Luke Carlin went 0-for-5 in two games for the Mobile BayBears before being promoted to Triple-A Portland.

Carlin hit .266, going 65-for-244, over 73 games with Triple-A Portland. He collected 14 doubles, four homers, 29 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He also drew 49 walks while striking out 54 times for a .392 on base percentage.

2005

Carlin hit .257 with eight doubles, a triple, two homers and 25 RBI's in 88 games for the Mobile BayBears. He also drew 35 walks and struck out 46 times for a .356 OBP.

2004

Batted .212 in 27 games for Fort Wayne. He began the year in Lake Elsinore where he hit .262 in 37 games with one homer and 12 RBI's.

Signed by the Padres in 2003 after being drafted by the Tigers in the 10th round of the 2002 draft.
