| Biography: |
Powell enters the 2008 season attempting a comeback from his second torn ACL in three years. The talented switch-hitting catcher was having a breakthrough season in 2007 when he injured his knee in July. He missed the rest of the regular season.
Powell finished the 2007 season with a .292 BA, 14 homers, 42 RBIs and a 910 OPS in 236 at-bats for Double-A Midland and Triple-A Sacramento.
Powell was added to the A's 40-man roster over the off-season and is considered one of the top defensive catchers in the minor leagues. |
