Biography:
2008

Huffman hit .284 with 124 hits in 437 at-bats with the San Antonio Missions. He collected a teal-leading 30 doubles, one triple, nine homers, 68 runs scored, and 58 RBIs across 119 games. He also drew 67 walks compared to 83 strikeouts for a .383 on-base percentage and stole one base in two attempts.

2007

Huffman hit .307 with 97 hits in 316 at bats for the Lake Elsinore Storm. In 84 games he collected 19 doubles, two triples, 15 homers, 63 runs scored and 78 RBIs. He also drew 42 walks compared to 56 strikeouts.

Huffman led the Padres minors in RBIs with 104.

Huffman hit .154 with an RBI and two runs scored over five Missions playoff games.

2006

Chad Huffman hit .343 with 68 hits in 198 at bats for the Eugene Emeralds. In 54 games he collected 17 doubles, one triple, nine homers, 40 RBI's and 41 runs scored. He also drew 25 walks while whiffing 34 times.

Huffman placed second in the Northwest League in average, first in on base percentage (.439), second in slugging percentage (.576), fifth in extra base hits (27) and was named a post-season All-Star.

He was promoted to Fort Wayne on August 28 and went 3-for-14 over five games with the Wizards.

Notes:

Chad Huffman was selected by the San Diego Padres in the second round of the 2006 MLB Draft, 53rd overall.

The right-handed hitter was a Third-Team All-American for the Horned Frogs in 2006 while leading the club with a .388 average and .742 slugging percentage. As would be expected of a Grady Fuson/Chief Gayton pick, he drew 38 walks against 31 strikeouts on the season. While he played first in college, the Padres will move him to the outfield.
