King hit .257 with 77 hits in 300 at bats for the Fort Wayne Wizards. In 79 games he had 20 doubles, seven homers, 34 runs scored and 35 RBIs. He also added 25 walks while striking out 51 times. King committed 14 errors playing mostly second base (67) with seven games at shortstop.
King went 0-for-5 over three games with the Portland Beavers, striking out three times.
2006:
King hit .231 with 64 hits in 277 at bats over 69 games for the Eugene Emeralds. He added 19 doubles, three homers and 38 runs scored. Kind also drew 29 walks while striking out 39 times.

Thomas King was selected by the San Diego Padres in the eighth round of the 2006 MLB Draft, 243rd overall.
King hit .411 on the year and fell one double shy of the NCAA record with 35 in 2006 for Troy, setting school and Sun Belt Conference marks in the process. His 117 hits this spring bested Adam Godwin’s old school record, set just last spring, by 27. He also broke the Troy season marks for games played (63), at bats (285), runs scored (75), runs batted in (73) and total bases (178).
King also set school and Sun Belt records by hitting in 31 straight games and by delivering hits in nine consecutive at bats twice. |
