Rodriguez went 3-2 with 18 saves and a 4.11 ERA over 46 games for the Fort Wayne Wizards. In 50.1 innings he allowed 62 hits, walked 14 and struck out 45.

Rodriguez went 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA over 12 games with the Lake Elsinore Storm. In 14 innings he allowed 18 hits and walked one while striking out 10. He allowed zero homers and tossed three wild pitches while inducing two double play grounders. He saw the opposition attempt one stolen base off him and that man was caught.

Rodriguez went 1-0 with a 0.93 ERA over seven Storm playoff games. In 9.2 innings he allowed four hits, walked three and struck out eight.

2006

R.J. Rodriguez went 0-0 with one save over four appearances for the AZL Padres. In 4.2 innings he allowed one hit, walked five and struck out seven while tossing three wild pitches. He held the opposition to a .059 average against.

Rodriguez was promoted to the Eugene Emeralds on July 3, 2006 where he went 2-3 with a 1.78 ERA over 26 games, notching 14 saves in 16 chances. In 30.1 innings he allowed 23 hits, walked five and struck out 27. The opposition hit .207 off him.
