Lara went 3-0 with one save and a 3.10 ERA over 22 appearances with the AZL Padres. In 29 innings he allowed 24 hits, walked 14 and struck out 38. His 22 appearances were tied for second most in the league.
2006:
Lara worked just 8.2 innings last year in the DSL, and despite an ERA of 0.00, he lost each of the games he appeared in. The right-hander went six innings in his first start, allowing an unearned run on two hits to take the loss and gave up another unearned run over 2.1 frames in his second outing, again going down in defeat. He underwent elbow surgery to claim the rest of his year. |
