Luis Martinez was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 12th round of the 2007 MLB Draft, 387th overall.
Martinez finished his final season at Cumberland with a .370 batting average with 85 hits, 13 home runs, 16 doubles and 63 RBIs. In 2005, Martinez was an 11th-round pick by the New York Mets after his freshman year at Jackson State but never signed. He went undrafted last year before ending up at Cumberland. |
