Martinez went 4-1 with a 5.47 ERA over 20 appearances with the AZL Pades. In 24.2 innings he allowed 33 hits, walked 14 and struck out 38.

2006

The right-hander went 3-4 with a 3.51 ERA for the DSL Padres. In 51.1 innings he allowed 45 hits, walked 24 and struck out 57. The right-hander did toss 14 wild pitches. He split the year between the rotation and the pen, holding the opposition to a .222 average against when he started.
