Germano went 4-0 with a 1.69 ERA over five starts for the Portland Beavers. In 32 innings he allowed 23 hits, walked three and struck out 20. He was then called up to San Diego.
The San Diego Padres claimed Justin Germano off waivers from the Phladelphia Phillies near the end of 2007 Spring Training.
Acquired by Philly from Cincinnati for left-hander Rheal Cormier on July 31, 2006.
2004
Germano began the year in Mobile, going 2-1, before getting promoted to Portland where he posted a 9-5 record with a 3.38 ERA in 20 starts. He also pitched in seven games with San Diego, five starts, posting a 1-2 record with a 8.86 ERA.
2003: The 21-year-old went 9-5 with a 4.23 ERA in 19 games for the Storm. He followed that up with a 2-5 mark in Mobile to end 2003. In 2002, Germano went 14-5 and posted a 2.94 ERA between Ft. Wayne and Lake Elsinore on his way to being named the San Diego Padres Minor League Pitcher of the Year. Germano struck out 78 and walked just 25 in 110.2 innings this season with Lake Elsinore. |
