| Biography: |
| After four disappointing years at Single-A, everything clicked for Evans in 2006. The former draft-and-follow player hit 22 homers at two levels for the Cardinals organization, then slugged 11 more after the Angels acquired him for Jeff Weaver in August. A natural athlete, Evans continued to strike out at a high rate through the year and didn't walk much, but re-established himself as a potential big league center fielder with his performance.
He will open the 2007 season in Salt Lake and has the talent to bypass guys currently ahead of him on the organizational depth chart. |
