| Selected in the 14th round of the 2002 draft from the University of Oklahoma (scout: Brian Milnar) ... Made three starts in 2005 at Double-A West Tennessee before undergoing Tommy John surgery and missing the remainder of the year ... Returned and pitched exclusively in a relief role to open 2006 at West Tenn, where his fastball began topping out in the mid to upper 90s according to Double-A coaches ... was 4-1 with a 2.22 ERA in 31 relief appearances at West Tenn ... was a 2006 Southern League All-Star before being promoted to Triple-A Iowa in mid July ... Pitched in two games at Iowa before undergoing season-ending surgery to repair a bone spur in his middle pitching finger ... Dealt primarily with a fastball and slider in 2006 ... Added to Cubs' 40-man roster on Nov. 20, 2006 ... Enters 2007 ranked as the Cubs' 19th best prospect by Inside The Ivy. |
