Talented and athletic pitcher with a good arm that enters Georgia Tech will two seasons of eligibility remaining after playing two years in junior college....Coaches believe he could be a difference maker in the future.
Junior College: Posted a 7-1 record in 14 appearances in 2005 at Young Harris, striking out 49 batters in 44.2 innings....Recorded eight wins and 89 strikeouts while posting a 3.39 ERA in 2006, and concluded his career with 138 K in 127 innings pitched....Helped the Mountain Lions to back-to-back GJCAA State Championships in 2005 and 2006....Named MVP of the conference tournament in 2005 and named first-team All-Georgia Junior College Athletic Association in 2006 as a pitcher....Selected in the 20th round of the 2005 MLB draft by the Boston Red Sox....A Dean’s List student at Young Harris College.
High School: A two-year letter-winner as an outfielder and pitcher for coach Reggie Black at North Gwinnett High School....Three-time Academic Player of the Year....Named to the all-region team as an outfielder following his senior season....Taken in the 28th round of the 2004 MLB draft by the Florida Marlins....Also played three years of basketball and one year of football at North Gwinnett.
