R.J. Rodriguez went 0-0 with one save over four appearances for the AZL Padres. In 4.2 innings he allowed one hit, walked five and struck out seven while tossing three wild pitches. He held the opposition to a .059 average against.
Rodriguez was promoted to the Eugene Emeralds on July 3, 2006 where he went 2-3 with a 1.78 ERA over 26 games, notching 14 saves in 16 chances. In 30.1 innings he allowed 23 hits, walked five and struck out 27. The opposition hit .207 off him.
