Biography:
In 25 games with the Ems, Smith hit .101, going 8-for-79 with one homer and five RBI's.

Smith hit .357 with seven doubles, three homers and 18 RBI's in 21 games for the AZL Padres. He posted a .409 OBP. Notes:

Smith was picked by the San Diego Padres in the 9th round of the 2005 draft out of Erskine.

Smith finished his outstanding junior season with a .448 batting average (9th in the nation), a .844 slugging percentage (5th in the nation), 18 home runs (5th in the nation), 28 doubles (2nd in the nation) and 83 RBI’s (2nd in the nation). During the 2005 campaign, Casey broke several career records at Erskine, including home runs (42), RBI’s (193), doubles (64), and total bases (432). Besides being named first team All-CVAC and first team All-Region, Smith became the first Fleet player named CVAC Player of the Year, Region Player of the Year and first team All-American by both the coaches and baseball writers.
