Kyler Burke hit .209 with 34 hits in 163 at bats for a .209 average in 45 games for the AZL Padres. He notched three doubles, four triples, a homer and 15 RBI's while scoring 24 runs. He also drew 26 walks while striking out 56 times. He stole one base in four attempts.
Burke went 2-for-4 in the Arizona Rookie League Championship game with a run scored.

Kyler Burke was selected by the San Diego Padres in the compensation round of the 2006 MLB Draft, 35th overall.
From Ooltewah (TN) High School, hit .459 (51-for-111) with 20 home runs and 58 RBI in 45 games for the Owls including the high school playoffs. Demonstrating the patience at the plate the club likes, he also finished with 49 walks. Burke, 18, was selected to play in the 2006 All-American Baseball Game and named to the Louisville Slugger Pre-season High School All-American Baseball Team11 |
