Rey Garramone went 3-3 with a 4.01 ERA in 14 games for the AZL Padres, including four starts. In 42.2 innings he allowed 43 hits, walked 14 and struck out 31 while tossing six wild pitches. The opposition hit .269 off him with righties hitting .214 and lefties batting .368.
Notes:
Garramone was a 29th-round pick of the San Diego Padres in 2005 out of high school in Colorado. He opted to go to Central Arizona College for a year then signed as a draft-and-follow player at the completion of his school's 2006 season.
Garramone posted a 3.39 ERA in 69 innings for the Vaqueros this season, striking out 53 while walking 34. Central Arizona plays in one of the few wood-bat leagues in the country. |
