Cla Meredith went 3-0 with two saves and a 1.39 ERA over 24 appearances for the Portland Beavers. In 32.1 innings he allowed 26 hits, walked four and struck out 24. The opposition hit .222 off him with two homers.
Notes:
A sixth-round pick in the 2004 draft by the Red Sox, Meredith moxed quickly through Boston's farm system, landing on the major league roster less than a year after he was drafted.
Meredith was traded to the Padres on May 1, 2006 along with Josh Bard and future considerations for catcher Doug Mirabelli. |
