Biography:
2006

Colt Morton hit .286 with 37 hits in 139 at bats over 41 games. he hit ten doubles, six homers, scored 15 runs and drove in 21. He also walked 11 times and struck out 44 times.

The 6-foot-6 right-handed hitter batted .224 over 52 games with the Lake Elsinore Storm. He added 15 doubles, five homers and 22 RBI's while walking 34 times and striking out 43.

2005

In 63 games, Morton hit .261 with 15 doubles, ten homers and 46 RBI's for Fort Wayne. He drew 35 walks and whiffed 57 times for a .362 OBP.

Morton hit .323 with four doubles, nine homers and 19 RBI's in 26 games for the Lake Elsinore Storm. He also drew 14 walks, struck out 30 times for a .407 OBP.

2004

Morton began the year with Fort Wayne but struggled there, hitting .150 in 36 games. He was demoted to Eugene and had a torrid July where he hit .308 for the month. He added a nine game hitting streak during that stretch and raised his average to .298. He then slumped horribly, going 4-47 during one stretch. He did tie for the league lead in homers with 17 and knocked in 45. 2003: Morton played in 25 games for the Emeralds in 2003. He his .278 with 14 runs scored, six doubles, seven home runs and 20 RBI.

Notes:

Colt Morton, selected in the third round of the 2003 draft out of the North Carolina State University, began his professional career with the Eugene Emeralds of the Northwest League. He led the Wolfpack with a team-high 19 home runs, eighth-best in school history. In three seasons at NC State, he hit .262 with 35 doubles, two triples, 44 home runs and 139 runs batted in. He is fourth all-time with the Wolfpack in homeruns.
