| Williams was signed by the Padres to a one year deal on December 8, 2004 with an option for 2006.
Woody Williams was signed as a free agent days after the Padres lost LHP David Wells to the Red Sox. Was 11-8 with a 4.18 ERA in 31 starts for St. Louis last year. Pitching in spacious Petco Park will help Williams, although he is reportedly losing some of his zip at age 37.
