Hensley made the Opening Day roster for the first time in his career, and he began the season in the bullpen. He ended the year going 11-12 with a 3.71 ERA in 37 games, including 29 starts. In 187 innings he allowed 174 hits, walked 76 and struck out 122.
2005
Hensley went 2-2 with a 2.99 ERA in 15 games for the Portland Beavers, including 14 starts. In 90.1 innings he allowed 63 hits, walked 22 and struck out 71.
2004
Hensley went 11-10 with a 4.30 ERA for the Mobile BayBears. He made 27 starts and pitched in a career high 159 innings, walking 48 and striking out 125.
Hensley was the Giants' eighth-round draft pick in 2002 out of Lamar University. He had a 6-6 record and a 3.98 ERA with Class A clubs Hagerstown and San Jose this season. On May 3, while pitching for Hagerstown, he threw a seven-inning perfect game in the nightcap of a doubleheader against Kannapolis. |
