| Carrillo went 1-2 with a 7.01 ERA in seven games for the Lake Elsinore Storm, all starts. In 25.2 innings he allowed 30 hits, nine walks and struck out 29.
Carrillo went 4-0 with a 3.23 ERA in five games for the Mobile BayBears, all as a starter. In 30.2 innings he allowed 23 hits, walked 7 and struck out 35.
Right-handed pitcher Cesar Carrillo, the 18th selection in the draft last month by the Padres, signed for $1.55 million. As part of the deal, Carrillo, 21, will start his professional career with high Single-A Lake Elsinore rather than the Padres' two short-season rookie-level clubs.
