Furmaniak was selected by the Padres in the 22nd round of the 2000 draft. He was added to the 40-man roster prior to the 2005 season.

He hit .294 with a career high 17 homers and 73 RBI's in 120 games for the Triple-A Portland Beavers.
Entering 2005, Furmaniak has hit .275 throughout his career with 335 runs scored and 262 RBI's in 534 games. |
