Selected by the Oakland A's in the first round (25th overall) of the June 2001 Draft.
2004 Highlights:
* American League Rookie of the Year.
* Led AL rookies in games played, homeruns, RBI, doubles, hits and at-bats.
* Had a .975 fielding percentage and flashed tremendous range at shortstop.
* Hit .258 on the road (.218 at home).
* Hit .254 against righthanders (.194 against lefties).
* Took over for former MVP Miguel Tejada at SS for Oakland.
Career Highlights:
* PCL Rookie of the Year in 2003.
* Hit .308 with 22 HR and 90 RBI for the RiverCats in 2003.
* Hit .281 for Midland and .307 for Modesto in 2002.
* Big West Conference Player of the Year in 2001.
