Selected by the Oakland A's in the first round (10th overall) of the June 1996 Draft. Signed six-year, $66 million contract extension in March 2004.
2004 Highlights:
* Defensive wizard captured fourth straight Gold Glove at third.

* After career-long struggles against lefthanded pitchers, posted a .893 OPS and a .306 BA against them (.902 OPS and .257 BA against righties).
