Trevor Hoffman returned to top closer form in 2004 (3-3, 2.30 ERA, 41 saves) after missing almost all of the 2003 season following two rounds of shoulder surgery. Fastball actually gained some velocity last year. Changeup still his best pitch. Overwhelming confidence. Ranks third on the all-time list of save leaders.
Hoffman was signed to a two year deal during the 2003 offseason. He will continue his closing duties for the team. He has 352 saves heading into 2004 with a career WHIP of 1.06 |
