Biography:
Selected in the 16th round by Oakland last year, he returned to North Carolina State for his senior season and was picked in the eighth round by the Padres. The right-hander from Rowland Heights, Calif. went 9-2 with a 2.20 ERA in his final year with State.

2004

Sterry began the year with Eugene and in his first start he had a one hitter through 7.2 innings of work with nine strikeouts. He ended up going 2-3 with a 3.96 ERA before being moved up to Fort Wayne. He went 2-0 with the Wizards including two shutout outings. He ended the year with a 2.40 ERA.
