| Padres 1st round draft pick in 2000 (14th overall) in 2001 (Tulane University). Spent all of '03 with BayBears as second baseman. Led team in at bats, second in homers. Has been forced to disabled list in each of last two seasons due to ulcerative colitis. Enjoyed three 4-hit games in '03. rated as 27th best prospect in Padres organization entering 2004 by Baseball America. Was Padres # 5 prospect entering 2003.Cal League All-Star second baseman in '02...played third base in '01 at Eugene. Two-time Conference USA Player of the Year at Tulane. Led state of Texas in home runs as high school junior and was high school All-American in 97-98.Played racquetball as youth and won eight and 10 year old National Championships. |
