Burks was picked in the 25th round out of Georgia Tech. Went 8-6 with a 4.67 ERA in 19 games as a senior for the Yellow Jackets, who were eliminated in the NCAA Super Regional last weekend. Struck out 76 in 94 1/3 innings pitched. Was most valuable player of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament as a junior.
