Nick Schmidt went five, giving up two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four. He also induced eight ground ball outs. The left-hander has given up two runs or less in five straight games and seven of his 11 starts overall. He came into the game with a four-game winning streak before taking the loss on Tuesday.
Cole Figueroa extended his on base streak to 34 contests with a 1-for-3 game that included a sacrifice and the lone Storm RBI. The Storm had just five hits on the day. Figueroa has driven in 25 over the streak while hitting .328 with a 24-to-14 walk-to-strikeout ratio. He also owns a seven-game hitting streak with a four-game RBI streak.
Blake Tekotte saw hie on base streak end at 25 games after going 0-for-3.
Fort Wayne (27-26) lost 2-1 to Wisconsin (Brewers)
Nick Greenwood took the loss, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk across six innings on a night that saw the offense go 1-for-9 with runnrs in scoring position and the first five hitters go 0-for-18. The left-hander struck out six and notched nine ground ball outs. Three of the hits went for extra bases, including a solo homer. It was just the second home he has given up all year. Greenwood has allowed two runs or less in six of his 11 outings this season.
Robert Poutier was perfect across two innings, retiring all six batters he faced. The right-hander recorded four of the outs by way of the strikeout. It was the sixth time in 10 outings that Poutier has retired every batter he has faced and the third time it has come across two innings. He has held the opposition to a .089 average agaoinst.
